Bible Study: In Him We Live, Move, and Have Our Being
There is a deep peace in remembering that our lives are not held together by our own strength, our own plans, or our own ability to control the future. The Word of God declares, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being” Acts 17:28. This is more than a comforting thought. It is a life changing truth.
Every breath you take is a gift from God. Every step you make, every decision you face, every burden you carry, and every victory you celebrate all happen under His loving care. In a world that tells us to depend on ourselves, Scripture calls us back to the One who gives life itself. We do not exist apart from Him. We are sustained by Him.
This truth brings both humility and hope. Humility, because we are not the center of the universe. Hope, because God is. When life feels uncertain, when your schedule is full, when your heart feels tired, and when your future seems unclear, you can rest in the fact that your life is not random. You are held by the God who created you, knows you, and walks with you.
Modern life often pushes us to live in constant motion, but God invites us to live with purpose. Not every movement is progress, and not every busy day is fruitful. Yet when we live in Christ, even ordinary moments become meaningful. Our work, our relationships, our waiting, and our worship all find their true place in Him.
Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches” John 15:5. A branch does not struggle to produce life on its own. It simply remains connected to the vine and receives what it needs. In the same way, we are called to abide in Christ daily. When we stay close to Him in prayer, in His Word, and in obedience, we find strength for each moment.
Today, do not measure your life by how much you can carry alone. Measure it by how closely you walk with the Lord. In Him you live. In Him you move. In Him you have your being. Your identity is secure, your steps are guided, and your life has eternal meaning.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that my life is in You. Teach me to depend on You in every moment. Help me to live, move, and have my being in Your presence today. Amen.
