Bible Study: The Beauty of Humility
In a world that often celebrates self-promotion and personal achievement, the words of Jesus in Luke 14:11 remind us of a profound truth: "For everyone that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." This principle cuts against the grain of our modern culture, which frequently encourages individuals to strive for recognition, power, and status. Yet, in God’s kingdom, the path to true greatness is paved with humility.
Humility is not a sign of weakness or inferiority; rather, it is a powerful stance that acknowledges our dependence on God. When we exalt ourselves, we place our own desires and achievements at the forefront, often leading to pride and isolation.
